Test & Performance Anxiety

Test Anxiety - Performance Anxiety
As an undergraduate at Princeton University, Dr. Harris developed this novel approach to coping with test and performance anxiety. This ground-breaking method has been tested in multiple research studies, always showing a significant decrease in anxiety and significant improvement in academic performance.

One of the critical issues affecting a child growing up is Performance Anxiety. Indeed, many children drop on intellectual waste piles because they can not cope with the pressure.

Performance anxiety is derived of two components:
  • A worrying component
  • An emotional component.
The worry component involves the child self-criticizing, imaging, actually rehearsing scenes of failure. "I'll never pass that test." "I'll never make friends." The emotional component involves sweaty palms, rapid heart rate and butterflies in the stomach.

Children with performance anxiety need not suffer in silence. There are excellent techniques to help overcome these problems. The child can obtain a feeling of confidence and adjustment to school and his peers with the proper treatment plan.
